Schooner W. J. Whaling, ashore at St. Helena, cargo plaster; threw over 100 tons, and got off.

Schooner Raleigh, off Kenosha, lost mainmast and rigging, and drifted to East Shore.

Schooner Falcon, lost her anchors at Vander's pier, Lake Michigan.

Schooner Julia Smith, lost her anchors same time and place.

Schooners Reindeer and L. Van Valkenburg collided at the mouth of the Detroit River; the latter damaged.

Schooner J. W. Nichols, cargo of stone; starboard bow stove in at Chicago.

Scow bark Lewis Day, struck a rock at Death's Door and waterlogged.

Schooner W. F. Allen, collided with bark Major Anderson at Bar Point; former badly damaged.

Steamer Saginaw, broke her wheels by ice at Escanaba.

Bark Nelson, sprung aleak on Lake Michigan; repaired.

Tug A. M. Ball, burst her heater on Lake Michigan.

Barge Mary Amanda, cargo of lumber, waterlogged on Lake Michigan.

Tug Chase, burst a steam pipe badly scalding the engineer, Chas. Rhine.

Bark Major Anderson, cargo of coal, run on Graham shoals; jettisoned and got off.

Schooner J. C. Harrison, collided with schooner Nevada in the Straits, losing bowsprit, etc.

Propeller Benton, broke her wheel at Saginaw.

Schooner Helen Blood, lost her mainmast by collision.

Schooner Pearl, ashore at Nepaunee, Lake Ontario; a total loss.

Schooner Nina, ashore at Nepaunee, Lake Ontario; a total loss.

Tug Albion, lost a raft of lumber off Luddington.

Propeller Mohawk, exploded her pony boiler at Buffalo; damage $500.

Barges Resolute and Defiance lost 250,000 feet of lumber on Lake Ontario.

Schooner Pauline, damaged $600 by collision with steamer Van Epps, at Chicago.

Steamer Clinton, broke her shaft; replaced at Detroit.

Propeller Michigan, ashore at Long Point Cut; jettisoned 160 barrels of flour, and got off.

Life boat capsized, and eight men drowned, at Fort Niagara, Lake Ontario.

Schooner H. C. Post collided with schooner Jesse Anderson, both damaged.

Bark Lottie Wolf, lost topmasts on Lake Huron, bound down.

Schooner Montauk, lost mainmast by collision with bark Two Fannies, near Sarnia.

Bark Parana lost mizzentopmast on Lake Huron; heavy weather.

Schooner Nettie Weaver lost foregaff and foresail on Lake Erie; a gale.

Bark Champion, split her foresail in a gale on Lake Erie.

Propeller J. L. Hurd, aground 24 hours, entrance to Toledo.

Propeller New York, met with like detention, same point.

Schooner A. C. Maxwell, lost foremast near Point Au Pelee, bound up.

Schooner Tom Simms, ashore at Wilson, Lake Ontario; got off.

Schooner Pathfinder, damaged in outfit and lost yawl on Lake Huron.

Colchester lightship, broke anchorage and ashore in Pigeon Bay.

Brig Mechanic, lost bowsprit and headgear by collision with bark Two Fannies, in St. Clair River.

Bark Two Fannies, lost cathead and jibboom in same collision.

Propeller Roanoke, damaged by fire in pilot house, at Detroit; binnacle lamp exploded.

Schooner Len Higby, ashore near Pentwater, Lake Michigan; got off.

Propeller Mayflower, stern damaged by getting afoul of propeller Canisteo at Beavers.

Propeller Jay Gould, ashore head of Belle Isle, lightered off.

Schooner Chas. Wall, lost jibboom by collision with schooner C. Raab, in the Straits.

Schooner C. Raab, totally dismasted by same collision; both bound down.

Propeller St. Louis, on Colchester reef, causing bad leak; bound down.

Propeller barge Westford, on Point Au Barques reef; jettisoned portion of cargo, lumber.

Schooner Hubbard, cargo grain, ashore near Wauboschance; cargo part damaged.

Schooner St. Cloud, cargo supplies, stranded at Whitehall, Lake Michigan, rescued.

Schooner A. H. Moss, cargo coal, ashore in Straits; jettisoned and got off.

Schooner Pride, ashore at Little Point au Sable; rescued.

Scow St. Joseph, cargo lumber, waterlogged in Lake Michigan.

Schooner Denmark, struck Milwaukee pier and damaged bows.

Steamer Union, on Elm Reef, lake shore; got off.

Tug Albion, ashore at Hamlin, Saginaw Bay; got off.

Schooner Hattie Wells, struck pier at Au Sable and damaged steering gear.

Scow Saugatuck struck Chicago crib, and lost bowsprit and jib.

Steamboat Frances Smith, broke her safety valve between Collingwood and Owen Sound.

Schooner D. L. Couch, cargo coal, sprung aleak in Lake Erie; arrived at Detroit.

Schooners J. C. Harrison and Nevada collide in Straits; former lost bowsprit, etc.

Schooner Nevada, sustained serious damage and was towed to Milwaukee.

Schooner St. Lawrence sprung aleak and damaged cargo, grain, in Lake Michigan.

Schooner J. H. Hartzell, ashore at Mammy Judy; lightered, coal.

Schooner Fawn, ashore at Port Washington; pulled off.

Brig J. C. Hutchinson, dismasted by collision with schooner Helen Blood, in Lake Michigan.

Schooner Camanche, ashore near Saginaw, light; pulled off.

Schooner S. T. Atwater, lost jibboom in a storm on Lake Michigan.

Scow Maria, ashore at Fighting Island; lightered, lumber.

Schooner Kenosha, struck a bridge at Cleveland and lost jibboom.

Propeller barge Buffalo, ashore near Saginaw light; lightered off.

Schooner Toledo, sprung foremast and split mainsail in Lake Michigan.

Schooner J. & A. Stronach, dismasted in gale on Lake Michigan.

Schooner L. J. Latham, run into dock at Buffalo; lost jibboom.

Schooner Hannah Etty, ashore at Amsterdam, Lake Michigan; got off.

Steamer Alpena and schooner Two Charlies collided in Lake Michigan; former started leaking.

Barges United and Stockton, lost deckloads of lumber on Lake Huron.

Barge Forester, damaged while towed by propeller D. E. Rose in Lake Erie.

Bark Kate Darley, ashore in the Straits; damage slight.

Schooner New Lisbon, ashore at Fighting Island; lightered off.

Tug Clematis, damaged by collision with vessel at the Flats.

Schooners Russian and J. S. Newhouse collided at Chicago; both damaged.

Bark Orphan Boy, lost jibboom by collision at the mouth of Detroit River.
