Two of our members have combined efforts to produce a 63-page soft-cover book entitled The Changing Seaway, which features thirty ships, both lakers and salties, that have used the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway system

in the first quarter-century since the opening of the Seaway . The text is by L. B. "Skip" Gillham, while the full-page photos (excellently reproduced) are by Alfred F. Sagon-King. Both front and back covers are in full colour. The descriptions of the vessels are interesting and fairly detailed, and illustrate the changes in the shipping scene that have taken place since 1959.

The book, a worthy addition to any marine library, may be obtained for $9.95 from the Lock 3 tourist information centre on the Welland Canal. It may also be ordered for the same price, plus $1.00 postage, from the publisher, Stonehouse Publications, 140 Welland Avenue, St. Catharines, Ontario L2R 2N6.
