MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS FOR THE 1987-88 SEASON ARE NOW DUE AND PAYABLE. Our new season, the twentieth for T.M.H.S., begins in October and we sincerely hope that all of our loyal members will renew for the coming year. Despite recent postage rate increases (and another on the way), our fees remain at $15.00 per annum. We would like to avoid the cost of mailing out individual billings, and so your early remittance will be greatly appreciated. Kindly forward payment to our Chief Purser, William R. Wilson, 173 Glenrose Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4T 1K7.

This being our first issue since May, and delayed somewhat due to Ye Ed's July vacation, we have a plethora of marine news in this issue, and we apologize for the brevity of many items. As well, certain other reports had to be omitted entirely in order to conserve space. If readers spot any major omissions, they should let us know so that we may include those items in the October issue.

In the New Member Department, a hearty welcome goes out to Don Boone of Collingwood, to Cecil L. Lewis of Port Dover, to Launy Paul of St. Catharines, to Howard J. Skinner of Cambridge, to Chris Kohl of Chatham, to Donald S. Hanna of Sharon, to Capt. Ronald W. Haines of Tara, Ontario, and to Rev. Alfred A. Hart of Avon Lake, Ohio.
