With reference to our Mid-Summer Ship of the Month, the Beatty Line propellor QUEBEC, we stated that she was powered by a steeple compound engine with cylinders of 34" and 34" and a stroke of 34". Members Rodney McKague of Niagara-on-the-Lake and John Leonard of St. Catharines have both written to say that they never heard of a steeple compound engine with both low and high pressure cylinders having the same bore, and we certainly must agree with their comments. Obviously, our original source was in error, but we have no access to the correct information. Can any of our readers assist?
