In the Mid-Summer issue, we welcomed to T.M.H.S. membership Jim Chidley of Port Coquitlam, B.C., who was sponsored by Ralph Morris of Goderich (Chief Engineer of the steamer OAKGLEN). We had intended to say a bit more about Mr. Chidley but did not have space available in the Mid-Summer or October issues. In fact, Jim and his wife, Gayle, are the owners of B.C.'s oldest operating ship, the tug-type yacht DELTA. It was built in 1889 and, after the Chidleys found it, sunk, in 1980, they lovingly restored it and now live permanently aboard. DELTA was on display at Expo 86 in Vancouver in May and again in September.
