As an Ontario bicentennial project, "The Standard", daily newspaper of St. Catharines, has produced a series of four excellent art prints depicting the history of the Welland Canals. They show the schooner YORK in the first canal at Port Dalhousie, the steamer ASIA in the second canal at Port Colborne, the composite canaller MINDEMOYA in the third canal at the Welland Aqueduct, and the stemwinder CANADA MARQUIS on the wall below Lock Four in the present canal. The prints are not only beautifully done and quite suitable for framing, but they are also very accurate in respect of the ships and locations portrayed. We recommend them to our members, and we thank "The Standard" for sending us a complimentary set of the prints so that we could bring them to the attention of our readers. Members wishing to order the prints should address The Standard Canal Prints 17 Queen Street, St. Catharines, Ontario L2R 5G5. For each set desired, enclose cheque or money order for $11.83 Canadian or $8.86 U.S., which includes tax, postage and handling.
