The following vessels are reported as laid up at various lake and river ports. We list major commercial vessels only and, unless specially noted, we do not include small ferries, tugs, scows, derricks, etc.
Plus large assortment of tugs, workboats, dredging equipment, etc.
It is only with the help of our correspondents that we are able to produce these lay-up listings for our readers each year. We are extremely grateful to all who responded to our request for information, and we extend our sincere thanks to the following members and friends of the Toronto Marine Historical Society for their assistance: Richard Armstrong, Neil Bauman, Rene Beauchamp, Bill Breaker, Roger Chapman, Donald Dube, Harold Fricke, Alain Gindroz, Ron Graham, Doug Gross, Wes Harkins, Cyril Hudson, Gerald Hutton, Paul Jagenow, Gerald Kennedy, Charles Maltby, James J. Michael, Larry Morrill, Al Schelling, Laurence Scott, Paul Sherlock, Francis and George Strong, Vern Sweeting, Al Sykes, Andy Sykora, W. George Williams, Tom Wilson, and George Zock. URGENTLY REQUIRED: We will continue our lay-up listings in the March issue and, in order to make the record as complete as possible, we would like to receive lay-up reports for the following areas (even if no vessels are in winter quarters there): Alpena, Ashtabula, Chicago, Cleveland, Green Bay, Lauzon, Lorain, Milwaukee, Muskegon, Quebec City, Rogers City, Saginaw/Bay City, Sault Ste. Marie (Ontario and Michigan), Sturgeon Bay, Toledo, and any other ports which have not yet appeared in this record. We do have members residing either in or very close to all of these ports, and we will look forward to hearing from them as soon as possible.
