It is with regret that we report the passing, on June 11, 1984, at age 87, of Herbert E. Koepke of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Herb was a long-time member of the Toronto Marine Historical Society and an avid observer of the shipping scene. He corresponded with us regularly and he often shared with us material that he had located. He frequently travelled to Sault Ste. Marie during summertime to photograph the passing ships.

We extend to his family our deepest sympathy at his passing.
