It is with deep regret that we report the death of one of the early members of the Toronto Marine Historical Society, Mr. William T. Sharp of Toronto. We learned only recently that Bill lost his life in a mountain-climbing accident in British Columbia during the summer months while on an expedition with the Alpine Club of Canada. Bill was a Professor of Mathematics by profession and at the time of his death was Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toronto. He was an avid ship and railway enthusiast and some of our members will recall that he participated in the NORISLE-NORGOMA excursions in June 1971.
